The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (DET) aims to impart essential skills and knowledge so that an individual can teach as a trainer and/ or a teacher/ lecturer in the post 16 education sector.

Formerly known as PTLLS, AET is an accredited certification that endorses the learner to teach at a national level and provides the learner a nationally recognised Ofqual approved Level 3 Award in Education and Training Certificate.

  • Unit 1:  Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and TrainingThis unit examines the role and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer/tutor and the skills sets required to create an effective learning environment.
  • Unit 2 – Understanding and Using Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and TrainingThis unit examines inclusive teaching and learning and investigates teaching and learning approaches used in own area of specialism in relation to meeting individual learner needs.
  • Unit 3:  Session Planning and Micro-Teach.This is a practical unit and the learner is required to plan a lesson, deliver and evaluate a 20-minute micro-teach on a subject they intend to teach.
  • Unit 4: Understanding assessment in education and trainingThis unit examines assessment within teaching environment and how assessment is essential to teaching.

Certification:

The course is assessed by (written assignments) and a 20-minute micro-teach.

Assessment Results:

Essay results are available within 21 working days of the assignment submission. Late submission will receive a penalty.
